Obituary for Glenden Lewis (Glen) Comer Glenden Lewis (Glen) Comer
U. S. Army Veteran Was Retired MeadWestvaco Welder

Glenden Lewis (Glen) Comer, 82, of 149 Comers Lane, Covington, Virginia, died Friday, May 28, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Comer was born November 27, 1938 at Wikel, WV, a son of the late Welch and Grace Cooke Comer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Goodin Comer in 2013, and his brother, Bennie Comer.

He retired from the United States Army.

He retired in 2001 from MeadWestvaco as a welder after 36 years with the company.

He was a member of Covington Moose Lodge #610, Callaghan Ruritan Club and a former member of the Dunlap Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He was an avid fan of classic cars.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Mark Porter of Moneta and Jane and Noel Antonio of Springfield; grandsons, Arren Porter and his wife, Hannah of Moneta and Thomas Antonio of Springfield, a sister-in-law, Betty Comer, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Bill Gilliland officiating.

Interment will be made at 2:00 p.m. in the Mountain View Cemetery at Lindside, WV.

The family will receive friends for one hour before service time at Arritt Funeral Home.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.

The family would like memorial donations in Mr. Comer's name be made to the Dunlap Fire and Rescue at P. O. Box 218, Covington, VA 24426.
