Andrew (Andy) Gann, 56, of Covington, Virginia died on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at VCU Critical Care Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Andy was born February 24, 1965 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late William N. Gann, Sr. and Peggy Boguess Gann Raether.

He was a Frito-Lay employee for over thirty years and a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

A loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Andy was well known for his work ethic, compassion, kindness, integrity, strength, and personality.

He was excited and looking forward to becoming a Pawpaw to his granddaughter, Bexley, this coming fall.

Surviving are his wife, Sherrie Lee Gann; son and daughter-in-law, Drew and Russie Gann of Richmond; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Emmy and Timmy Goodbar of Lexington and Deena and Chuckie Simmons of Covington; three brothers, Bo, Lester and Jody Gann, all of Covington; several nieces and nephews; his dog and sidekick, Sake; and his granddog, Layla; all of whom he loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Joey Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
