George Daniel Dickerson, 90, of Fairfield, Virginia, died Monday, May 31, 2021 at his home.

He was born October 12, 1930 in Fairfield, a son of Wade Alexander and Mary Emma Dickerson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Gladys Mae Stewart Dickerson.

Mr. Dickerson was a member of Lawson Chapel United Methodist Church in Fairfield and retired from Rockydale Quarries with many years of service.

Surviving are his children, George Daniel Dickerson Jr., Samuel Lee Dickerson, Barbara Mae Forren, Mary Louise Reynolds, Gladys Mae Mattox and Hattie Marie Miller; two brothers, William Herman Dickerson and Charles Randolph Dickerson; and one sister, Barbara Ann Dickerson Sheffield.

A service will be conducted at graveside at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by Dr. John Fisher. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on June 12.
