Obituary for Harold Eugene Robinson Harold Eugene Robinson
World War II U. S. Army Air Corps Veteran Worked With The City Of Covington

Mr. Harold Eugene Robinson, age 93, of Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, June 12, 2021 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was the husband of the late Geraldine Wolfe Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was born August 14, 1927, the son of the late Lonny Ancle Robinson and Mildred Lucille Craft Robinson.

He he served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

A lifetime resident of this community, Harold was employed by the City of Covington where he worked in the treatment plant for a number of years before his retirement.

Mr. Robinson attended Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. A talented craftsman, Harold was a highly skilled carpenter and electrician.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his special friend and companion, Betty Rosenthal and her daughters, Denise Brubaker and Debbie Worren; a nephew, Troy D. Gillespie of Covington; and two nieces, Janet White and husband, David of Covington and Shelia Via and husband, Junior of Salem.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Richard Robinson and Truman Marion Robinson; two sisters, Alma Jane Gillespie and Laura Mae Gallow; and a daughter of the heart, Dana Thurston.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Bowker officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Graveside rites will be conducted by Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Hilton, James Morgan, Joe Hubble, Tony Smallwood, Steve Bryant, Cecil Underwood and Bobby Gillespie. Honorary pallbearers will be Grady Haynes and Donnie Williamson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from noon until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form contributions to the Covington Rescue Squad, 435 W. Hawthorne Street, Covington, VA 24426.
