Obituary for Marion Parker Cobbs Marion Parker Cobbs
Covington Resident Was Former A&P Meat Cutter, Cashier

Marion Parker Cobbs, 91, of Covington, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Brian Center in Low Moor.

Mrs. Cobbs was born November 9, 1929 in Bath County, a daughter of the Late Grant and Mary Ethel Smith Nelson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Cobbs Sr., two sisters, and one brother.

She worked at the A&P Grocery store as a meat cutter and cashier. She was also a member of Pine St. Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Lloyd Cobbs Jr and wife, Karen of Covington; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Cobbs of Blacksburg; six grandchildren: Lloyd Jordan and wife, Delores of MD, Warren Jordan of Fort Myers, FL, Malinda Brooks and husband, Brandon of Roanoke, Givoni Jennings of Lexington, Vera Cobbs and Tyrees Bennett of Charlotte, NC, and Jonathan Cobbs of Roanoke; a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins to include a special cousins, Dianne Heighter and James Barber, both of Covington.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Pine St. Baptist Church with the Evangelist Tamala Preston officiating.

The entombment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from noon to service time on Friday at Pine St. Baptist Church.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
