Obituary for Edith Furry Wright Edith Furry Wright
First Assembly Of God Church Member Was Caldwell Native

Edith Furry Wright, age 94, of 5249 Lowery Downs, Virginia Beach, Virginia, died Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Kempsville Health and Rehab Center, Virginia Beach.

She was born March 28, 1927 in Caldwell, West Virginia to the late Henry Miller Furry and Rozella Beard Furry.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Clifton Forge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Irvine Wright, Sr.; two sisters, Charlotte "Faye" Furry Watts and Hazel Furry Flemming; and a brother, Willie Lee Furry, Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Wright Huffman and husband, Glenn and Anita Wright Ryan and husband, Robert, both of Virginia Beach; a son, Ray Irvine Wright, Jr. and wife, Margaret of Hot Springs; two sisters, Alice Furry Mason and husband, Gene of Covington and Maye Furry Vess and husband, Tommy of Clifton Forge; seven grandchildren, Christopher Wright, Ashley Wright, Robert Wright, David Wright, Craig Huffman, April Gailaf and Kevin Hertzel; four great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Sharon Baptist Cemetery, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Teddy Bias officiating. Interment will immediately follow. There will be no formal visitation.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to First Assembly of God Church, 1610 Oak Hill Avenue, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arranegments.
