Obituary for Charles (Chuckie) Tucker Charles (Chuckie) Tucker
Covington Native, First Christian Church Member, Died In Alaska

Charles (Chuckie) Tucker, 57, of Bens Run Road, Covington, Virginia died on June 30, 2021 in Cordova, Alaska.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tracy; his brother, Robert "Senor" Tucker, and his sister, Donna Counts Terry.

Although Charles began to go blind at an early age, he never let his handicap keep him from pursuing his love of gardening, fishing and hunting. As he grew older, he lost all of his vision and had to deal with a number of medical problems, yet despite everything he faced, he always had a smile on his face. His wonderful attitude and zest for life endeared him to all that knew him.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Covington and he deeply loved his church family.

Going to Alaska was a lifelong dream of his and while he understood the risks of taking such a trip given his health, Charles was quick to point out that he had never allowed his medical problems from following his dreams and he was not about to start.

In accordance with his wishes his body was cremated.

There will be a celebration of his life at First Christian Church in Covington on July 24, 2021 at 2 p.m. The theme will be one of Charles' favorite quotes, "Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all."
