Mary Ellen (Hefner) Hull, 77, of Doe Hill, Virginia, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Mill Gap on September 22, 1943, a daughter of the late Otis John and Annie Margaret (Sheets) Hefner.

A homemaker, Mrs. Hull worked along-side her husband, June on the farm. She enjoyed being outdoors, making hay, raising a garden, canning her bounty and especially loved cutting firewood. She will be remembered as a woman with a strong work ethic and drive. Above all, she dearly loved her grandson, Ben, who she thought the world of.

She is survived by her son, Dennis H. Hull and wife, Lisa of Doe Hill; grandson, Ben H. Hull of Doe Hill; sister, Charlotte Mullenax of Gloucester; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Henry Harrison "June" Hull, Jr.; daughter, Debra Kay Colaw; brothers, James L., John A. and William "Ross" Hefner and sister, Shirley Buchanan.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
