Joan Gaile Biggs, age 74, of 356 Bridge Street, Glen Wilton, Eagle Rock, Virginia died Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at her residence.

Gaile was born September 12, 1946 in Botetourt County, Virginia to the late John Henry Biggs, Jr. and Ellen Hipes Biggs.

She was a technician for the rubber plant in Iron Gate.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John H. Biggs III, and a brother-in-law, Delmas Hyler.

She is survived by a daughter, Dee Pennington and husband, Richard; two sisters, Patty Hyler and Rosalyn Powell, and husband, John; a grandson, Shea Pennington and wife, Rebecca; a granddaughter, Kelli Christman and husband, Aron; and three great grandchildren, Khloe, Spencer, and Willow.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Locust Bottom Cemetery, Glen Wilton, with Reverend Ray Sandifer officiating. Interment will immediately follow. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call during business hours at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
