David Wesley McCoy, age 57, of 3468 Cowpasture River Highway, Millboro, Virginia died Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Virginia Baptist Hospital, Lynchburg.

He was a laborer for Jackson River Enterprises and a member of Horeb Baptist Church.

He enjoyed High School Sports, the Special Olympics, fishing, bowling, and loved the Washington Redskins and UVA sports teams.

David was born in Hampton, Virginia on June 16, 1964, a son of Frank Lewis McCoy of Millboro and the late Faye Matheny McCoy.

He is survived by his father, Frank Lewis McCoy; a sister, Penny McCoy Campbell and husband, Darrell; a brother, Richard Thomas "Ricky" McCoy, all of Millboro; a nephew, Michael Campbell and wife, Kerri; a niece, Sarah Marshall; five great nieces and nephews, Kennedy, Harper, Ellie Campbell, Gracie and Evan Marshall; a number aunts and uncles; and special friends from Special Olympics.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Pastor Mike Rollins and Pastor Steve Markum officiating.

Interment will follow in Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery, Millboro. Pallbearers will be Michael Campbell, Darrell Campbell, Ricky McCoy, Kenny Puffenbarger, Al Durham, Randy Durham and Stewart McCoy.

The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, and other times at the home of Penny and Carrell Campbell, 3415 Cowpasture River Highway, Millboro, VA.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Centra Hospice, 2097 Langhorne Road, Lynchburg, Virginia 24501.
