Obituary for Kenneth (Kenny) Andrew Knapp Kenneth (Kenny) Andrew Knapp
Clifton Forge Native Was Monterey Resident

Kenneth Andrew Knapp, 72, of Monterey, Virginia, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at the home of his caregiver and cousin with whom he resided.

He was born November 23, 1948 in Clifton Forge, a son of the late Ralph Norman and Etta Marie (Hevener) Knapp.

Kenny was raised and held membership in Monterey United Methodist Church, where he held perfect attendance for many years and additionally held membership with McDowell Mennonite Church. He enjoyed attending church events, making maple syrup, helping in the hayfield, and walking to town to socialize with his friends daily. He will be remembered as a kind soul, who remembered everyone's birthday, and was always seen with a smile.

He is survived by a brother, Walter N. Knapp and wife, Anna of Halifax; two sisters, Ruth Marie Botkin of Verona and Velda Elizabeth Sigley of Halifax; special cousin and caregiver, Virginia Belle Smith of Monterey; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 in Monterey Cemetery with pastors Clair and David Heatwole officiating.

The staff of Obaugh Funeral Home will receive family and friends wishing to pay their respects between 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, August 20 at Obaugh Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be friends in attendance.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to the Highland County Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 268, Monterey, Va. 24465.
