William Austin (Bill) Wade, 76, of Lexington, Virginia, died Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his home.

Born August 20, 1944 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of Raymond Austin Wade and Beulah Mae Sensabaugh Wade.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Sorrells Wade.

William attended Victory Baptist Church, and was owner and operator of Wade's Machine Shop for many years. He also co-owned and operated Havenwood Assisted Living Facility along with his wife, Nancy.

Surviving are his children, Stacey Wade (Kay Fix) of Amherst and Dawn Wade Riley (Stephen) of Rockbridge Baths; grandchildren, Luke and Grace Riley; brother, Donald "Donnie" Wade; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Batten and Stella Runkle.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, August 23 at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Dean Staton. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 3700 Lombardy Ave., Buena Vista, VA 24416. Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
