Lexington Native Was Founder Of Spiritual Warriors Of The Martinsburg Veterans Hospital

Elder Thomas Martin Wright, 77, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Born April 26, 1944 in Lexington, he was the son of the late Chester and Alice Wright.

He was a Vietnam army veteran.

Elder Wright was the founder of the Spiritual Warriors of the Martinsburg Veterans Hospital. He was a faithful servant of the Church Without Walls Ministries, where he ministered through the word and in song. He continued to support the Church Without Wall Ministries until his death.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Apostle Janis Patterson Wright; goddaughters, Jasmine Oliver and Kyla Patterson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Virgie and Charles Moore; the Patterson family; and a host of many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Chestina, Virginia, Beatrice, Scarlette, Ramon and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 3 at Brown Funeral Home by Elder John Price. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg.
