Clifton Forge Resident Was Retired, Self-Employed Mechanic

Frank Lenwood (Butch) Robinson, Jr., age 73, of 4303 Riverland Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

Butch was born April 9, 1948 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Frank Lenwood Robinson, Sr. and Peggy Lucille Helton Robinson.

He was a retired self-employed mechanic.

He served in the United States Air Force, worked for a number of years as a machinist for CSX Transportation, and was a former deputy with the Alleghany County Sheriff's Department and the Covington Police Department. He was a retired member of the Sharon Volunteer Fire Department and a founding member of Victory Baptist Church. He loved model trains and hunting.

In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his step mother, Mildred Meadows.

He is survived by his wife, Dreama Brown Robinson of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Luci Vest and husband, John of Clifton Forge; two sons, Kurt Robinson of Clifton Forge and Johnnie Robinson and wife, Kim of Iron Gate; a step sister, Vickie Meadows of Clifton Forge; a step brother, Ricky Meadows and wife, Marylynn of Iron Gate; six grandchildren, Cody Robinson, Kenzey Robinson, Mattie Robinson, Caleb Robinson, Sadie Vest, and Steven Vest; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Brandon Nicely officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Military rites will be presented at the graveside by members of the Burnside-Carpenter Post 4299 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be David Thurston, Doc Thompson, Cody Robinson, Barry Brown, Lonnie Hayslett, and Joe Turner. Wendell Jones will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Victory Baptist Church, P. O. Box 2, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
