Obituary for Mary Carol Elmore Mary Carol Elmore
Longtime Beautician Was Lewisburg Resident

Mary Carol Elmore, 85, of Lewisburg, West Virginia, passed away September 8, 2021 at Greenbrier Health Care Center, Lewisburg, WV.

Born May 15, 1936 in Hinton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Edward Byers and Ruby Spade Byers.

Mary was a member and Deacon of Clifton Presbyterian Church where she also belonged to the Ladies Circle #1. She attended First Baptist Church of Fairlea.

After graduating Hinton High School, Mary married her first husband, the late Robert Cales and they moved to Illinois. She attended the Elgen School of Beauty Culture and following graduation was a beautician for over thirty-five years. After retiring from Marlene's Hair Care, they moved to Lewisburg, WV.

She loved to travel and gardening. She was also a member of the Newcomers and Old Friends ladies' group. Mary volunteered at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Moriarty; a sister, Janice Bennett and brother, James Byers.

Survivors include her husband of eighteen years, Richard Elmore; son in law, Patrick Moriarty; grandchildren, Ian Patterson (Michelle) of Lexington, VA and Sarah Patterson of Indianapolis, IN; stepsons, Terry Elmore (Dana) of Parkville, MD and Tom Elmore (Ann) of Covington, VA; stepdaughter, Tammy Sauzedde (Josa Mario) of Fern Park, FL; five great grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and her furry friend, Peanut.

Visitation will be 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dallas Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Clifton Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Maxwelton, WV.

We will be following COVID-19 suggestions and request guests wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
