Kim Edwin Craft passed away in Idaho on September 12, 2021.
He was a loving husband father and grandfather, and a stranger to none.
Kim was born on February 3, 1953 in Clifton Forge, Virginia and was the son of the late Paul Edward and Mary E. Harrah Craft.
Kim lived an adventurous childhood in West Virginia with his partner-in-crime, his older brother, Jim Craft.
Kim bravely and honorably joined the U. S. Marine Corps at the young age of 17 and happily served for four years during the Vietnam War.
Kim Craft met the catch of his life and soon to be holder of his heart, Opal Craft on February 22, 1973 at a Shakey's Pizza. Even though it is questionable who approached who first, there was no question of their love on their wedding day, only six months later on August 4, 1973. During their great love story of 48 years they had a beautiful daughter and son.
Kim's daughter, Jeannene Craft, is a living representation of his girl and kind nature. His granddaughter, Jordyn Burnell, better known and bragged about as Goose, is now carrying on his legacy at IBEW Local 11 as a CW.
Kim was a member of IBEW Local 11 in LA for 37 years. Through his extraordinary hard work and dedication to the local, he became the President for 6 years, then assistant Business Manager for 10. During his time in LA, Kim stood true to the pact of Brotherhood, making life-long friends and the best fishing buddies.
Only a few short years after his retirement in 2015, he moved to his Heaven on earth, Salmon, Idaho. He would spend his mornings with a cup of tea on his back porch with his four legged best friend, Cody. He would spend his afternoons either fishing, shooting pool, or laughing with one of his numerous friends. Every evening was spent laying between the love of his life and his four-legged best friend.
Kim was frequently heard saying if he was any happier he would be in Heaven.
Kim Craft worked hard to be a part of the community by joining the Fraternal order of Eagles, Salmon 2316. So his loved ones thought it fitting to hold his open memorial at the Eagles Lodge Salmon #2316 on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Everyone is welcome because Kim knew no stranger. In Lieu of flowers feel free to bring a written memory you shared with Kim, that his family may keep in a memory book.
