Mr. Randy Alan Knighton, Sr., age 53, of Covington, Virginia, died Friday, October 1, 2021 at Bath Community Hospital, Hot Springs.

Mr. Knighton was born October 9, 1967 in Covington, the son of the late William Ellsworth Knighton and Joyce Clarke Knighton.

A lifetime resident of this community, he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Randy was employed as a corrections officer by Cold Springs Correctional Unit, retiring after a number of years of service.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Randy loved watching football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, he loved watching his grandchildren.

Mr. Knighton is survived by two sons, Randy S. Knighton, Jr., Andrew Z. Knighton and wife, Carrie Knighton; a daughter, Kristina N. Knighton and husband, Louis Calloway; his girlfriend, Charlene Sass and was like a step-dad to her daughter, Autumn Sass; a brother, Jason S. Knighton; five grandchildren; a niece, two nephews; and a number of great nieces and nephews along with Cristopher Thompson.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Melvin "Buddy" Burks officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from noon until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
