Joseph Blankenship, 59, of Glasgow, Virginia, passed away, Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

Born September 15, 1962 in Welch, West Virginia, he was a son of Felisa Gaminde Blankenship and the late Jessie J. Blankenship.

Joe was a fun-loving, outdoorsy guy who was also a hard worker. He helped his father build the original cable TV company in Glasgow in the 1970s and later helped his father build the Pentecostal Outreach Church in the 1980s.

He is survived by his much loved family: wife, Deborah Blankenship and his four children and their families: Amy Clark and Emma; Darick Blankenship with Huntley, Bentley, and Ryan; Samantha Blankenship and Jayce; and Deborah Jo Blankenship and Bryden; brother, Jessie and sister, Julia Duff; and several nieces and nephews.

A private funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the Glad Tidings Church, 1102 Glasgow Highway, Buena Vista, with Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday October 18, 2021 at the church.
