Obituary for Gwynn Vaden Grow Gwynn Vaden Grow
Buena Vista Resident Was Military Policeman, Mohawk Retiree

Gwynn Vaden Grow, 80, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021.

Born July 28, 1941 in Buena Vista, he was the son of Joseph Henry Grow Sr. and Margaret Rogers Grow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Gleason, and two brothers, Tommy Grow and Keith Grow.

Gwynn was a 1959 graduate of Parry McCluer High School, then served in the U. S. Army as a military policeman.

Gwynn retired from Mohawk after many years of service.

He was a member of Grace Chapel. Gwynn had a love of sports; he loved his Blues, Redskins and the Red Sox. He was well known for umpiring softball games in the area. Besides his love for his family and sports, he had a special love for his fur baby, Maggie.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Ruby Fox Grow; son, Matthew Grow and wife, Harmony; brother, J. H. "Butch" Grow Jr. and wife, Gerry; and numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Ken Hammack.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 22 at Grace Chapel by Pastor Butch Grow and Pastor Tommy Johnson.
