Buena Vista Resident Dies At Age 78

Ms. Joyce Flint Fields, 78, of Buena Vista, Virginia, went home to her Heavenly Father on October 21, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Joyce was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Staunton.

She greatly enjoyed walking, hiking, skiing, shopping, church, cooking for her family for the holidays and spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was being a mother, nana, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jim Fields.

She is survived by her four children, Joy Buchanan and husband, Eric, Terri Fairchild, Sue Goff and husband, David and Mike Wilmore and wife, Jill; six grandchildren, Patrick Buchanan, Peyton Fairchild, Blake Goff and wife, Jessica, Allison and Austin Kamla, and Tristen Menz and husband, Rob; four great grandchildren, Kaylen and London Byerly, and Avery and Audrina Goff; other family member, Bradley Fairchild; three sisters, Marge Conner, Angela Hanes and Gloria Rhodes; two brothers, Kenny Flint and Donald Flint; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Linda Lawhorne, Ruby Tomlin, Bea Ruley, and Diane Wright.

The family would like to thank Rockbridge Area Hospice and Ms. Sandra Fitzgerald for the care given to our Sweet Momma.

In these unsettled times, there will only be a graveside service held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27 at Spring Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, 411 Mackeys Lane, Fairfield, VA 24435 conducted by the Rev. Bryon LePere. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested those desiring may make memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association of Central and Western Virginia Chapter, 355 Rio Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
