Obituary for Jane Luhrs Bicknell Jane Luhrs Bicknell
Lexington Resident Had Long Real Estate Sales Career

Jane Luhrs Bicknell, 91, of Lexington, Virginia, died Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Kendal.

Born February 12, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John Frederick Luhrs and Grace Henderson Luhrs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison C. Bicknell Jr.

A 1948 graduate of the Emma Willard School, Jane attended Smith College for two years before marrying Harrison C. Bicknell Jr. at Big Moose Lake, N.Y. in 1951. They continued to spend summers at Big Moose for many years.

Jane had a 23-year career selling real estate in Schenectady, N.Y., before moving to Lexington in 2000.

Jane was active with Habitat for Humanity, was an avid bridge player and was one of the founding residents of Kendal. She also attended Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her children, Catherine Crabtree, Elizabeth Bicknell, Harrison "Brud" Bicknell, David Bicknell and R. Bruce Bicknell; sister, Sarah Barnett; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
