Hattie Jeanette Fitzgerald, 89, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 at her home.

She was born July 30, 1932 in Buena Vista, the daughter of James Lewis McDaniel and Indiana Wheeler McDaniel.

She worked in retail business for years and also owned and ran Hattie's Grocery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. Fitzgerald; daughter, Cathy F. Humphries; brothers, Homer, Harry, John and Glossie; and sisters, Bea, Dorothy, Rennie, Laura and Betty.

Surviving are her daughter, Sandy F. Worth and husband, Denny of Buena Vista; sons, Robert H. Fitzgerald and wife, Denise of Lexington and Stanley W. Fitzgerald and wife, Jeannie of Buena Vista; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister, Rachael Young of California; special friends, Trish and Tommy Snider, Kime McKimmey, Terry Walker, Deb Tomlinson and Barbara Mohler.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Green Hill Cemetery by the Rev. W. David Bain.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
