Chrissy Lyn Simmons, 38, of McDowell, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the home of her father, Roger Simmons.

She was born March 17, 1983 in Staunton, a daughter of Donna Marie (Moore) Keffer and Roger Allen Simmons.

A family-oriented girl, Chrissy loved spending time hunting with her dad, time spent with her niece and nephews, and was looking forward to meeting her great-niece, Elliana.

One who never cared to dress up, she would often be seen in her camouflage. Additionally, Chrissy enjoyed doing crafts, painting her nails, watching wrestling and playing games on her iphone. Above all, she will be remembered for being a down to earth and selfless girl, always willing to give up her time to help others.

She is survived by her mother, Donna Keffer and husband, Charlie of Brandywine, MD; her father, Roger Simmons and wife, Becky of McDowell; brother, J.R. Simmons and wife, April of Staunton; step sisters, Cassie Mowry of McDowell and Katie Ball of Beltsville, MD; step brother, Tony Morris of Covington; niece, Autumn Simmons; nephews, Devyn and Bryce Simmons; as well as a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Obaugh Funeral Home with pastor Todd Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in McKendree Chapel Cemetery.
