Obituary for Jack Lewis Knighton Jack Lewis Knighton
Former C&O Railway Clerk Was Faith Baptist Church Member

Mr. Jack Lewis Knighton, age 93, of Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Brian Center Nursing Care, Low Moor.

He was the husband of the late Ruth Hinkle Knighton.

Mr. Knighton was born August 11, 1928 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Lewis Edward Knighton and Pearl McKinley Bazzarea Knighton.

He was employed as a clerk with the former C&O Railway for a number of years before his retirement.

Mr. Knighton was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

In his spare time, Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Knighton is survived by a daughter, Susan Knighton Smith of Covington.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Knighton was preceded in death by his two brothers, William Edward Knighton and Roy N. Knighton; his sister, Constance Knighton Byer, as well as an infant sister.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 15, 2021 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Price officiating. Interment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Ron Porterfield, Glen Hinkle, Jackson Hinkle, and Austin Hinkle.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
