Obituary for Robert Madison Lipscomb Robert Madison Lipscomb
Fairfield Resident Worked With Brew Ridge Taps Of Lexington

Robert Madison Lipscomb, 44, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021.

Born June 30, 1977 in Lexington and a lifelong resident of Rockbridge County, Robert was the son of Alec and Mary Lynn Lipscomb of Fairfield.

In addition to his parents, Robert is survived by his brother, Alexander; his grandmother, Mary Sterrett Lipscomb, his children, James and Maddie, and his former spouse, Eisheh Sarafandi.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Woody; his grandfather, Lynn Woody, and his grandfather, Alex Lipscomb Sr.

A lifelong sports fan, Robert loved skateboarding, basketball and racquetball with friends, and playing football for the RCHS Wildcats. He especially loved watching his beloved Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturdays in Blacksburg, and enjoyed road trips to sporting events from baseball games in Washington, Baltimore, and Cleveland to football games in South Bend, New Orleans, and Denmark. His travels took him around the world to places like Las Vegas, Seattle, France, Gabon, and Copenhagen.

More than anything, Robert was dedicated to his family: his beloved children, James and Maddie were the center of his world.

He lived a life filled with love and adventure, often traveling overseas to visit his brother, Alexander, while also helping his parents on their family farm on Timber Ridge. He loved his work at Brew Ridge Taps in Lexington because it gave him the opportunity to gather more friends.

Robert was dearly loved by so many in the Rockbridge community. He was truly a kind soul, loved everyone with ease, and with his broad smiles and huge hugs brought a special light into the lives of family, friends, and strangers. His positive energy and enthusiasm for life were contagious. To know Robert was to love him, and we will all miss him dearly.

A memorial gathering will be organized at a later date.
