Mr. Richard Brandon Byer, age 37, of Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Byer was born September 3, 1984 in Covington, the son of Debra Nicely Byer and the late Clemmer Byer, who preceded him in death in 2001.

A lifetime resident of this community, he was a graduate of Alleghany High School.

Brandon enjoyed going to the Life Skills Center in Clifton Forge. He was a member of Greenwood Evangelical Presbyterian Church. A true people person, he enjoyed being read to as well as loved attention and being outside.

In addition to his mother, Brandon is survived by his grandfather, Dick Nicely, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his father, Brandon was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Alice Nicely, and his paternal grandparents, Lucille Kimberlin and Bill Byer.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Anthony Lowry officiating. Interment will follow in Palestine Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Nicely, Mike Nicely, Chris Hensley and Tony Smith.
