Obituary for Allen Ray Puckett Allen Ray Puckett
U. S. Navy Veteran Was Sonoco Foreman

Allen Ray Puckett, age 83, of 4009 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Friday, November 19, 2021 at The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge.

Allen was born December 31, 1937 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Moman Edward and Mamie Laura Via Puckett.

He served in the United States Navy and was a foreman for Sonoco. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and faithful servant to the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda Jane Ferguson Puckett; a stillborn daughter, Katrina Lynette Puckett; three sisters, Laura Virginia Brooks, Betty Davis, and Margaret Dial; and three half-brothers, Chester Puckett, George Puckett, and Robert Puckett.

He is survived by three sons, Edward Ray Puckett and wife, Debbie of Clifton Forge, Anthony Scott Puckett and wife, Teresa of Disputanta, and Lewis Dale Puckett and wife, Connie of Clifton Forge; a twin brother, Cecil Ray Puckett of Chester; a sister-in-law, Deanna Lacks and husband, Jimmy of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge, with Pastor Lloyd Camp and Pastor Luke Benton officiating. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call anytime at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
