Obituary for Thurman Lee Coffey Jr. Thurman Lee Coffey Jr.
Buena Vista Resident Dies At Age 68

Thurman Lee Coffey Jr., 68, of Buena Vista, Virginia, gained his angel wings surrounded by family at his home.

He was a loving and devoted husband, daddy, and Poppie, not just Poppie to his four grandchildren, but a Poppie to everyone he met and loved.

He enjoyed coaching little league and being on the softball field. He loved watching his three grandsons play ball and loved anything to do with his only granddaughter. Many generations have been impacted by his love and support for years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thurman L. Coffey Sr., and his mother, Normagene "Jingles" Coffey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sharon Eakin Coffey; daughters, Michelle C. Martin (Keith) and Danielle Floyd (Jamie); four grandchildren, Kole Martin (Paige), Skyler Floyd (Caden), Kaleb Floyd (Chloe) and Kade Martin (Lexi); and his beloved German shepherd, Josie, who was always by his side. He is also survived by his sister, Landy Boatwright (Joe); his brother, Stanley Coffey; many nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, December 2 at the Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Scott Beattie and Pastor Kris Peaden officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
