Dixie Jean Southers Montgomery, 76, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021.

Born June 11, 1945 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Zella Southers.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Southers; and sisters, Ernestine Crawford, Peggy Wright and Nancy Burnop.

Surviving are her son, Richard "L.D." Rowsey (Jennifer Mero); her daughter, Tessa Fields (Kary); a grandchild, Jade Rowsey; step-grandchildren, Patrick Hennis, Sarah Hennis, Allie Fields and Alexis Fields; and special nieces, Lois Crawford, Carol Clark and Amy Coffey.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church on Friday, December 10 with the service to start immediately afterwards with the Rev. Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
