Michael Clark Reed, 76, of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, passed away December 10, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Born January 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Clark Austin Reed and Janis Trent Reed.

He was also preceded in death by brother, Greg Reed and brother-in-law, Brady Dowdy.

Mike was a 1962 graduate of White Sulphur Springs High School and attended Concord College. He worked at Westvaco paper mill for 16 years and attained his Journeyman's electrician card there. He then worked outside the U. S. as maintenance electrician in high voltage generators for Pan American Satellite tracking stations on various islands, including Grand Turk, Antigua, Ascension and the Seychelles.

Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Greenbrier as hotel and bunker electrician.

Mike was a car buff who enjoyed his 1969 Firebird and watching Nascar with his buddy, Gabe Snow.

Survivors include his lifelong companion, Marcie Gilmer of Bluefield, VA; sister, Susan Reed Dowdy of White Sulphur Springs and sister-in-law, Bonnie Reed of Nettie, WV.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in White Sulphur Springs with Pastor Bob Daniels officiating. Interment of his cremains will be held in the Spring 2022.
