Jesse David Mayhew, 67, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Marsha, and two devoted daughters, Kelly (and fiancé, Justin), and Sarah, his "mini-me."

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jesse Odell Mayhew and Mary Holdren Mayhew.

A Virginia native and graduate of Old Dominion University, Jesse was a faithful public servant for more than 40 years, working as a civil engineer for the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water.

A lifetime member of the Lexington Lifesaving and First Aid Crew, he actively volunteered his time as an EMT for more than 10 years and also served as treasurer.

He was a member of New Monmouth Presbyterian Church, serving as sound technician for many years. An avid fisherman, Jesse enjoyed camping and fishing with his family at the lake and the beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Monmouth Presbyterian Church or the National Park Service.
