Obituary for Betty Tingler Arthur Betty Tingler Arthur
Former Kountry Korners Owner Was Covington Resident

Betty Tingler Arthur, 89, of 103 Mountain Lake Dr., Covington, Virginia, died Monday, December 20, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Arthur was born September 1, 1932 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Jesse and Bertha Nida Tingler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene W. "Gene" Arthur in 1991; two brothers, Melvin P. "Monk" Tingler and Randall D. "Bun" Tingler.

She was a business owner of the Kountry Korners and a member of Granbery Memorial UMC.

She was a loving wife, mother, and MeeMaw who enjoyed playing instruments and singing as well as fishing on the coast.

Surviving are her son, Stephen Arthur of Covington; a daughter, Gina Arthur of Richmond; three grandchildren, Faith Maureen Arthur, David Gene Arthur, and Hope Noel Arthur; mother of her grandchildren, Cynthia Brown Arthur; a special caregiver, Trevor "Puddin" Nicely; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Pastor Sung Woon Yoo officiating.

The family will receive their friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.

The interment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial donations be made in Mrs. Arthur's name to the Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church at 425 W. Main St., Covington, VA 24426.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
