James Edward McGrogan Jr., 84, of Fairfield, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Augusta Medical Center.

Born July 17, 1937 in Carnegie, Pa., he was a son of the late James Edward McGrogan, Sr. and Elizabeth "Bess" Wilson McGrogan.

His loving wife, Alberta Jeanne Zewe McGrogan, passed away only a few hours after James on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

Born July 12, 1939 in Duquesne, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Albert Zewe and Virginia Minnick Zewe.

They were both members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

James was a business owner in the field of transportation, while Alberta retired as the director of Clinical Support at Western State Hospital.

They are survived by their children, Joseph McGrogan, John McGrogan (Melanie), Elizabeth McGee, and James McGrogan III (Bethany); 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. James also leaves behind a sister, Margaret O'Neill (Tom), while Alberta leaves a sister, Virginia Holten (Darold).

A memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at a later date.
