Obituary for George Austin Javins, Sr. George Austin Javins, Sr.
Goshen Resident Was Retired Forklift Operator, Rehobeth Church Member

George Austin Javins, Sr., age 78, of 9805 Maury River Road, Goshen, Virginia died Monday, January 3, 2022 at his residence.

He was born May 11, 1943 in Fairfax, Virginia to the late George William and Pearly Rose Shaffier Javins.

He was a forklift driver for R. L. Williams Lumber and while living in Alexandria, he was known as "Patio Man".

He was a member of Rehobeth Church and loved fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Odella, Margie, Annie, Florence, and Kitty.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Javins of Goshen; two daughters, Lynn Javins of Greenville, VA and Marie Javins of Jersey City, NJ; a son, George Austin Javins, Jr. of Goshen; four brothers-in-law, Bobby Randozzo, George Thomas Miller, John Randozzo, and Rob Munsey; and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Lenny.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Pastor Bill Gram officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
