Rodney Cameron Crawford, of Covington, Virginia, 64 years old, passed away peacefully at home on Christmas morning after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 7, 1957.

He was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors, was a hard worker, and a jack of all trades. He shied away from any drama. He was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

Rodney was proceeded in death by his father, Carlos Cameron Crawford; mother, Rebekah Marie Crawford Waite; nephew, James Cameron Crawford; and brother-in-law, Leonard Warren Shifflett.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina Crawford and significant other, Justin Whittington; granddaughter, Lyric Whittington; sisters, Brenda Shifflett, Sherry Crawford, and Bonnie Hale; brother, James "Butch" Crawford; special sister-in-law, Lisa Crawford; nieces, Tiffany, Kelly, Stephanie, Brittini, Jazmine, Lucy, Livy, and Janiya; nephews, Jeremy, Christopher, James, Wyatt, and Mikah; and special friends, Ricky and Teresa Morris, Donnie and Adam Crouse, Janet Elmore, Leslie Meadows, and Beverly Crawford.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
