Rosa Lee (Rose) Lyle Rizer, age 96, of Brandon Oaks Nursing Home, Roanoke, Virginia and formerly of Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, January 15, 2022 in Roanoke.

Rose was born September 1, 1925 in Clifton Forge to the late Harry Brown and Virginia Richardson Lyle.

She was a Deputy Commissioner of Revenue for the City of Clifton Forge.

She was a lifelong member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church where she belonged to the Winsome Seekers Sunday school class. She was also a former member of the Marth Chapter # 21 Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas Rizer, and a sister, Marjorie Lyle Spencer.

She is survived by a nephew, Harry Edward Spencer and wife, Billie of Conway, SC; a cousin, Glen Lyle and wife, Peggy Sue of Roanoke, and Nancy Williams and husband, Edward of Ridgeway Va, Peggy and husband, Stan Tunnell of Matthews NC, Susie Gardner of Midway NC, and Shirley Higgs of Winston Salem NC.

All funeral services, including the committal, will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend J. Glenn Linthicum officiating.

Interment will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
