Obituary for Wanda S. Ramsey Wanda S. Ramsey
Longtime Rockbridge County Schools Bus Driver Was Lexington Resident

Wanda S. Ramsey of Lexington, Virginia, gained her angel wings on January 19, 2022.

She is survived by her dear husband and best friend of 45 years, William (Billy) Ramsey; her beloved sons and their wives, Bill and Jennifer Ramsey and Brandon and Ainsley Ramsey; her most precious treasures, her grandchildren, Kayla, Lucas, Eli, and Ryan; her siblings, Linda (Gary) Knick and Roy Crawford, as well as Billy's sister, who she claimed as her own, Edna (Jim) Dedrick; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wanda was an employee of Rockbridge County Public Schools as a bus driver for 35 years. Her passion for her job and her "kids" was clear throughout the years.

She was the ultimate mama bear that loved her family more than anything in the world. She was proud to be called Mom and MawMaw and took any and every opportunity to brag about her boys and grandchildren. She could always be found on the sidelines of whatever activities they were involved in, cheering louder than the rest.

She loved to ride motorcycles with her husband and always had a story to tell about the friendships made on their long rides. Wanda lived life to the fullest and made sure to remember to stop and take a picture, so the memories could always be treasured. She believed in the Almighty and passed that belief onto her sons and grandchildren. In everything she did, she gave glory to God.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22 at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Benjamin Dowling III officiating. Friends may gather with the family immediately following the service at Kerrs Creek Fire Department.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
