Obituary for Loretta Thompson Clark Loretta Thompson Clark
Lexington Resident Dies At Age 84

Loretta Thompson Clark, 84, of Lexington, Virginia, was called home Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Shenandoah Valley Health & Rehab.

Born June 3, 1937 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late William Edward Hartless and Dorothy VanNess Hartless. Loretta was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Graham Berry Clark Jr.; son, James Albert Thompson; great-grandson, River Martin Anderson; and special family members, Estell and Minnie Falls.

Loretta was a member of the Faith Mountain Baptist Church, and she was very family and faith-oriented. She loved to garden and listen to classic country music.

Loretta is survived by her daughter, Belinda Martin; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Thompson; and a special stepson, Jerry Clark and wife, Susan; three granddaughters, Kasey Leslie and husband, Derek, Brandi Anderson, and Katrina Phillips and husband, Dave; and four great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Emma Leslie, Robert Leslie, Brantley Owens and Jameson Phillips. Loretta also leaves behind numerous special nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 29 at Faith Mountain Baptist Church officiated by Pastor William Thomas. Friends may gather with the family for one hour before the service.
