Obituary for Patricia Adcock Sibold Patricia Adcock Sibold
Covington Native Left "Legacy Of Patriotism, Love Of Family..."

Mrs. Patricia Adcock Sibold, age 85, of Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, January 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

She was the wife of the late Thomas Hull Sibold, Sr.

Mrs. Sibold was born June 6, 1936 in Covington, the daughter of the late Wallace O. Adcock, Sr. and Mary Louise Smith Adcock.

Pat was a woman who lived for God, her family, and her church (especially the choir). That was everything. She cherished and fully celebrated every holiday and enjoyed the natural beauty of every season.

Growing up on Magazine Street in Covington, her neighbors were her family, too. She never met a stranger and stopped and talked to everyone she knew. She loved life and found humor in everything, always looking for the bright side of any situation. As a mother, she was involved in all of her children's activities, serving as classroom mom, scout leader, and dance mom and marched her children to church every time the doors were open.

Pat loved her home but ventured out to the workforce later in life. You may have seen her smiling face at Grants Store, at Holiday Inn behind the desk as clerk, as a bank teller at Covington National Bank, or helping you find the perfect outfit at The Lemon Twist. She always worked in the public so she could meet new friends and talk with everyone.

Pat and her husband, Tommy, loved riding through our lovely area including neighborhoods, the city park, and Main Street and stopping to sit on friends' porches to just talk and enjoy their community family. Pat continued giving her motherly love to her grandchildren with her support in all their activities, sleepovers at her house, and as taxi driver extraordinaire. Pat has left a legacy of patriotism, love of family, church, and friends, and a true admiration of our beautiful Virginia mountains. As she would say, "We are so blessed."

Mrs. Sibold is survived by a son, Thomas Hull Sibold, Jr. and wife, Debby; two daughters, Dianne Sibold Garcia and husband, Jimmy and Melody Sibold Jessee and husband, Tim; six grandchildren, Jessica Sibold Ashby and husband, Jeff, Rachael Garcia Thompson and husband, Bryan, Quincey Garcia Young and husband, Josh, Abigail Sibold, N. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Sibold was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace O. Adcock, Jr. and a grandson, James Brennan Garcia.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Sung Yoo officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
