Obituary for Dorothy (Dot) Stinnett Jarvis Dorothy (Dot) Stinnett Jarvis
Buena Vista Native Dies At Age 82

Dorothy (Dot) Stinnett Jarvis, 82, of Charlotte, N.C., died on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at her home.

She was born on February 25, 1939 in Buena Vista, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charlie Fletcher Stinnett and late Ethel Rose Coleman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marshall (Cecil) Stinnett.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie "Buddy" Lee Jarvis; two sons, Brent (Rendee) Jarvis, Kent (Sharry) Jarvis; one granddaughter, Jessica (Andrew) Dowd; four grandsons, Brannon Jarvis, Ryan Jarvis, Bryce, Jarvis, and Shane Jarvis; and two brothers, Freddie (Lawana) Stinnett and Buck (Susan) Stinnett.

Dot worked for Reeves Brothers for over 30 years.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in her church in different capacities as Relief Society president, Relief Society counselor, and primary teacher.

After retirement, she and Eddie (Buddy) continued their church service as temple ordinance workers for two years and served eight years as Bishop Storehouse food coordinators. Dot had a passion for cooking and loved to provide service to others as well as her family.

A small graveside dedication will be held at Greenhill Cemetery on Saturday, January 29 at 2 p.m. for those who wish to attend.
