Obituary for Margaret Collins Wilhelm Margaret Collins Wilhelm
Well-Known Rockbridge Area Prep Cook Was WestView Pentecostal Holiness Church Member

Margaret Collins Wilhelm, 82, of Lexington, Virginia, died Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Augusta Medical Center.

Born May 7, 1939 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of Paul David Austin and Bessie Pearl Thomas Austin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer Wilhelm; a son, Jimmie Collins; and many brothers and sisters.

She was a member of WestView Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was a prep cook that had retired from The Natural Bridge Restaurant after over 30 years, and spent 30 years at the Lexington Motel Restaurant. She had a great sense of humor, and was still making people laugh just days before her passing.

Surviving are her children, Deborah Hostetter, Paul Collins, Richard Collins and Gary Collins; brothers, Ben Austin and Lewis Austin; sister, Minnie Cochran; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 27 at Fairfield Cemetery by the Rev. Donald Camden.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
