Mrs. Virginia Lee Beatty West, age 73, of Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, January 27, 2022 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany.

She was the wife of William A. West, Sr.

Mrs. West was born February 27, 1948 in Greenville County, the daughter of the late Allen Beatty and Effie Goode Harrison Beatty.

A resident of this community for five years, she had previously lived in Bangor, ME.

During her working career, Virginia had been employed as a waitress as well as a movie theater assistant manager.

Mrs. West was a member of Fincastle Baptist Church.

In her spare time, Virginia enjoyed watching movies and crocheting. A very loving and giving person, she truly enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. West is survived by two sons, William A. West, Jr. and Daniel A. West, both of Maine; two daughters, Kathleen Bradberry and Dorothy Oullette, both of Covington; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Booth of Williamsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. West was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Fincastle Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Wylde officiating.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Fincastle Baptist Church-Highland Campus, 230 E. Oak Street, Covington, VA 24426.
