Herman Forest Armentrout, 91, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at his home.

Born June 23, 1930 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Forest Armentrout and Donnie Ayers Armentrout.

He retired from Charles Barger & Son with 30 years of service and sold newspapers for The News-Gazette for 31 years.

Surviving are his daughter, Frances Marie Southers; three grandchildren, Jessica Hite, Cleveland Southers and Mamie Southers, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be conduced at 2 p.m. Monday, January 31 at Oxford Presbyterian Cemetery by the Rev. Sonny Wilhelm.
