Obituary for George Saunders Worley George Saunders Worley
Virginia Employment Commission Retiree Was High Bridge Presbyterian Church Member

George Saunders Worley, 73, of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, passed away peacefully in his home Thursday, February 3, 2022.

He was born October 31, 1948 in Lexington, the son of May Saunders Worley and the late Lloyd George Worley.

George retired from the Virginia Employment Commission with 33 years of service.

George was a member of High Bridge Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon. He was actively involved in his community through the Natural Bridge Ruritan Club and the Glasgow-Natural Bridge Food Pantry.

Early in life, he played piano for church, starting a lifelong passion for music. He continued to play in numerous bands throughout his life. He was a 4-H All Star and a lifelong supporter of 4-H where his love of farming began.

In addition to his mother, George is survived by his wife of 42 years, Faye Brown Worley; son, Gavin G. Worley (Mary Carson) and their sons, George Silas Worley and Charles Jeter Worley. Also surviving are his sister, Charlene Worley, and special niece, Daisy Thomas (Andrew) and their daughter, Emma.

The family is having a private service due to Covid.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Rockbridge Area Hospice or 4-H.
