Robert Marshall Thomas of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

Bobby, as he was known, was born in Buena Vista on March 16, 1942 to James D. Thomas and Virginia F. Thomas, both preceding him in death.

Bobby served in the U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force during the Cold War. He then moved to Northern Virginia where he became a union millwright. In 1971, he became a Mason.

Those left to cherish his memories are his son, Bobby Jr. of Fairfax; his daughter, Connie Chandler of Hertford, N.C.; his brother, Jimmy Thomas of Buena Vista; his sister, Sherlin Turner of Hertford, N.C.; his sister-in-law, Barbara Thomas; his daughter-in-law, Simone Thomas; his son-in-law, Geoff Chandler; his five grandchildren and his 12 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 12 at Green Hill Cemetery with Pastor Arnold Bradley officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
