Harry Lee Coleman, 85, of Buena Vista, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born May 10, 1936 in the Irish Creek community of Rockbridge County to the late John Norvell Coleman and Dolly Grant Coleman.

He retired from Mundet-Hermetite and served his country in the United States Army.

Harry was known for many things, including a quick wit, a solid work ethic and being the unofficial mayor of Cornwall. To his family, he was best known as a strong and unwavering provider.

He was predeceased by the love of his life, Hilda Swink Coleman in 2010. After she sustained a debilitating stroke in 1997, Harry faithfully and lovingly cared for his wife until her death.

He is survived by sons, Anthony Coleman and Chris Coleman of Buena Vista; grandson, Jonathan Coleman and wife, Lexi of Richmond; granddaughter, Allison Coleman of Buena Vista; brother, Henry Coleman and wife, Janet of Buena Vista; sister, Shirley Hays of Greenville; sister-in-law, Sharon Heffner of Vesuvius; special friend, Madge Bradley of Fairfield; and numerous nieces and nephews that he cherished.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 14 at 2 p.m. at the Grant Family Cemetery in Montebello conducted by Pastor Adam Williams and grandson, Jonathan Coleman.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450.
