Edmond (Jay) Patterson II, 58, of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away Friday, February 11, 2022.

Born April 30, 1963 in Rockbridge County, he was the son of Philip E. Patterson and the late Julie Cullen Patterson.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Oyler Patterson; grandmother, Carmen Cullen; and aunt, Marjorie "Babe" Armentrout.

Surviving are his daughter, Kelly Patterson Mills (Tony) and Jonathan Kane Patterson; six grandchildren, Cole Mills, Knox Dancy, Dax Patterson, Kaylee Jae Patterson, Madelynn Patterson, and Weston Patterson; sister, Leslie Patterson Dorey (Yonnie); brothers, Jon Conrad "Rad" Patterson (Angie), and Andrew Cullen Patterson (Jennifer); uncles, Richard Armentrout and Charles Patterson; cousin, Ashley Burnett-Davis (Elgin); special nieces, nephews, "Creek Buddies"; special friends, Lisa Hazelwood, Canann Clark, Lindsey, Will and Dallas; and many other family, friends, and colleagues.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Parry McCluer High School gym with the Rev. W. David Bain and Rev. Dr. Louis Caddell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Buena Vista Police Department for a scholarship in his name.
