Obituary for Curtis Daniel Snodgrass Curtis Daniel Snodgrass
Buena Vista Carpenter, Handyman, Loved To Play The Drums

Curtis Daniel Snodgrass of Buena Vista, Virginia, better known as Danny Snodgrass, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of February 15, 2022.

Danny is survived by his son, Curtis Lee Strong; father, Harrold Snodgrass; sisters, Carrie Snodgrass and Carmen Hinkle; brother, Craig Snodgrass; numerous nieces and nephews and best friends Charlotte Lomax and Jason Fuller.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Ann Snodgrass; brother, Carl Snodgrass; and pet pitbull, Nuddin'.

Danny was born on June 29, 1969 in Huntsburg, Ohio. Danny spent his early years underfoot in the family motorcycle dealership ‒ "The Bike Barn" ‒ being spoiled and tended to by his older sisters. The family would relocate to a homestead on a remote mountain top in West Virginia known as Hinkle Mountain. With the Monongahela National Forest as his backyard, Danny learned to hunt and appreciate nature.

Danny worked hard and played harder. He loved hunting (for deer and mushrooms), fishing, NASCAR, the Cleveland Browns and rock 'n roll. He loved playing the drums, sometimes at 3 a.m.

He had an infectious laugh. A work day wouldn't go by without him making you to laugh until you were crying.

Danny worked primarily as a carpenter and all around handyman for most of his life. He did fine work for many people around the county and beyond.

Known as "Uncle Dan-Dan" to many, Danny was great with kids and kids loved him. He was always able to keep them entertained with his Donald Duck voice and wheelbarrow rides.

Danny loved animals and always had an uncanny bond with his dogs, especially a Pitbull he called Nuddin'. He'd always take care of a stray, human or animal.

To have Danny as a friend was to have a friend for life who would stick with you no matter what road you were going down.

Whenever Danny ended a conversation, he never said goodbye ‒ he always said "Later". See ya later, Danny.

A celebration of life will be held on March 11, 2022 at 4 p.m. at Todd's Barbecue in Buena Vista.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rockbridge County SPCA.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
