Obituary for Wade Franklin Hayslett Wade Franklin Hayslett
WestRock Retiree Was Immanuel Baptist Church Member

Wade Franklin Hayslett, age 73, of 529 Commercial Ave, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his residence.

He was born September 12, 1948 in Clifton Forge to the late William Kermit Hayslett and Laura Elizabeth Larman Hayslett.

He was a retired operator for Westrock in Covington and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

He loved spending time with his family, and loved Holden Beach, North Carolina.

Wade served in the United States Navy from 1968-1970 and then transferred into the U. S. Navy Reserve following his active duty career.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald, Scott and Cory Hayslett; and a sister, Brenda Daniel.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Craft Hayslett of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Amanda Hayslett and wife, Chrystal of Roanoke; two sons, Neil Franklin Hayslett and wife, Wendy of Stuarts Draft, Wade Bradford "Brad" Hayslett and fiancée, Jennifer Ward of Covington; a sister, Julie Steese and husband, Fred of Oconto Falls, WI; two brothers, Ronald Elliot Hayslett and wife, Lynda, Farron Eugene "Buster" Hayslett, all of Clifton Forge; special sisters-in-law, Vicki Hayslett and Shirley Mayo, both of Clifton Forge; a brother-in-law, Barry Daniel of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Kelsey and Logan Hayslett; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Barry Daniel and Reverend Lloyd Camp officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be Barry Daniel, Kenny Mayo, Mike Hayslett, Darryl Craft, Berkley Garrett, Lyle Turner, and Ben Turner.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
