Obituary for Ruby Jane Curry Gordon Ruby Jane Curry Gordon
Covington Resident Worked With The Homestead; Was Falling Springs Presbyterian Church Member

Mrs. Ruby Jane Curry Gordon, age 90, of Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at The Woodlands Health and Rehab Center, Clifton Forge.

She was the wife of the late John William "Bill" Gordon.

Mrs. Gordon was born June 12, 1931 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Ocie Billy Curry and Hallie Edith Thompson.

A lifetime resident of this community, Ruby was employed as a housekeeper by the Homestead Resort.

She was a member of Falling Springs Presbyterian Church, the Ruth Circle and the Adult Sunday School Class.

Ruby was a wonderful baker and well known for her carrot cakes, biscuits, and dumplings. She loved to crochet, work in her garden and enjoyed passing on the love of her many hobbies to her grandchildren.

Mrs. Gordon is survived by two sons: John Gordon and wife, Debrena and Greg Gordon and wife, Tonya; eleven grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by a son, Gary Boerner; a daughter, Phyllis Boerner Byer; and her ten siblings, as she was the last surviving child of her parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mt. Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
